Sikwate Brew

bulad,Suka,Sili,Sikwate..Sikwate. This bisrock song popularized by Junior Kilat is a very great reflection of the Visayan Food Culture. Sikwate is not new to us anymore. Sikwate is a hot chocolate beverage made with locally produced pure cacao tablea. It is the perfect accompaniment to puto maya, suman, or even in siomai. Everytime I drink this, I always bring back memory when my grandma makes it. Sure, there are plenty of chocolate drink mixes out there but they are either too sweet or too creamy for me. Plus, I am partial to all things rustic. The process of making tablea is still very artisan so you can’t expect a very smooth texture. Sikwate can be a bit grainy. Traditionally, sikwate is prepared using baterol.

By the way the Tablea is a spanish translation of the word tablet.
So FrexMAri was hunting for Hot Choco to drink and after roaming around Divisoria, we happen to cross and found a place to drink Sikwate.

It's Sikwate Brew. This is located at Chaves-Pabayo Sts. Cagayan de Oro. They offer Hot drinks like Sikwate Cinnamon, Sikwate Peppermint, Hazelnut, and etc. Cold Drink; Frappe, Smoothie and etc. Budget Meal, Hot Teas and of course, Filipino delicacies are within reach. And guess what is so affordable for 10php-120php Only. Of course.

The cozy ambiance of the store felt homey. You wouldn't know you have been there for a long time chatting with your special someone. The sikwate was just a perfect with the pair of siomai with Love.
COME AND VISIT SIKWATE BREW
